William J. 'Bill' Williams
Williams Tile & Marble

Mr. William J. "Bill" Williams founded Williams Tile Company, Inc. in 1976. At that time, Mr. Williams had 11 years experience in the ceramic tile contracting industry. Beginning small, with an office in his home and only 3 employees, including his wife Emily, Mr. Williams established a reputation for providing quality installations, fair pricing and congenial working relationships. By 1981, Williams Tile Company, Inc. had an employee base of 14 and the business moved into a small office/warehouse in Florissant, MO. In 1985, the company was awarded the contract for the renovation of St. Louis Union Station. In the same year, Williams Tile Company was selected for the Galleria Shopping Mall contract. As company operations expanded, Mr. Williams recognized an increasing need for more control of natural stone and marble materials and fabricating schedules. Shaw Marble Works, a marble shop located in south St. Louis County, was acquired in 1986.

Williams Tile Company has always been family owned and operated. Emily Williams worked alongside Mr. Williams as the company's Vice-President. Mr. Williams' son, Stephen Williams worked in many areas of the business until he completed a Bachelors degree in Business from Southwest Missouri State University in 1984, at which time he was hired as a full time estimator. Mr. Williams' son-in-law, Charles Boville joined the company in 1985. In December 1986, Mr. Williams came to an untimely accidental death. But because of the firms' fine reputation, passion for quality workmanship, attention to detail, and responsiveness to customers, Williams Tile Company, Inc. has continued to flourish with Emily Williams as President, Stephen Williams as Vice-President and Charles Boville as Project Manager.

In October of 2000, the company name was changed to Williams Tile & Marble, Inc and operations were relocated to a 22,000 square foot building at 39 Worthington Access Dr. in Maryland Heights, MO. This expansion of operations allows Williams Tile & Marble Inc. to offer our commercial and residential customers the very best quality and service in the tile and natural stone industry.

Williams Tile & Marble Inc. has been recognized by the American Subcontractors Association, Midwest Council with the 2001 Excellence in Achievement Award for Best Specialty Subcontractor. Williams Tile & Marble, Inc. is certified WBE (Women Business Owner) by the State of Missouri and the City of St. Louis.
